The diocese’s Office of Worship will offer several regional liturgical ministry workshops in 2010 for ministers of the liturgy in parishes.
The workshops will provide liturgical ministers with ongoing formation and support and help to prepare them for the new translation of the Roman Missal, according to Sandra Holland, director of the Office of Worship.
The half-day workshops are offered at no cost to all laypeople in parishes. Those especially encouraged to attend are liturgy coordinators, liturgy committee members, lectors, musicians, sacristans, extraordinary ministers of Communion, altar server coordinators, liturgical environment coordinators and ministers of hospitality (ushers and greeters).
Each regional workshop will present several topics for reflection and discussion, including the history of the liturgy, Christ in liturgy and Scripture, and practical applications.
Workshops will be held on Sept. 25 at St. Patrick Parish, located at 235 Chapel St. in Grass Valley; Oct. 2 at St. Joseph Parish, located at 1791 Marshall Rd. in Vacaville; and Oct. 9 at Our Divine Savior Parish, located at 566 E. Lassen Ave. in Chico.
For more information or to register for any of the workshops, call the
Office of Worship at (916) 733-0220 or send an e-mail inquiry to worship@diocese-sacramento.org
