Mary’s Hour celebration set for May 18

By Catholic Herald staff

With the theme “Mary, Mother of All Nations,” the annual diocesan multicultural Mary’s Hour celebration will be held on May 18 at St. Rose Church (Kavanagh Hall), located at 5905 Franklin Blvd. in Sacramento.

Bishop Soto Coadjutor Bishop Jaime Soto will be the main celebrant and homilist of the Mass. All ethnic communities in the diocese are invited to participate.

The celebration will begin at 2 p.m. with the praying of the rosary and a procession. Bishop Soto will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m. The celebration will also include the rite of crowning of the image of Mary and Scripture readings and intercessory prayers in various languages. The event is presented by the diocesan Mary’s Hour committee and is a celebration that traditionally takes place in May to honor the mother of Jesus.
