About Bishop Jaime Soto
On October 11, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Jaime Soto as coadjutor bishop of the Diocese of Sacramento.
On November 29, 2008, Bishop Soto became the bishop of the diocese of Sacramento upon the upon the retirement Bishop Emeritus William K. Weigand.
Prior to moving to Sacramento to become coadjutor bishop, Bishop Soto served as an auxiliary bishop for seven years in the diocese of Orange. He is one of 25 active Hispanic Catholic bishops in the United States.
