Diocesan Statutes
The
Diocesan Statutes were promulgated on November November 26, 2006 on The
Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ the King as binding law for the Diocese
of Sacramento. These statutes and policies, supported by Canon Law, require
observance among the Christian faithful.
The
Diocesan Statutes (English PDF) (Spanish
PDF) reflect the pastoral initiatives
inspired by the Holy Spirit and defined by the Synod delegates who, while Journeying
Together in Christ, prayerfully discerned and deliberated on the current
needs of the Church as well as its future. The statutes also embody
the hierarchical constitution of the Church, the teaching mission of the
Church, the sanctifying mission of the Church, and temporal matters of
the Church.
In addition to updating the statutes of the Diocese, the official policies, guidelines and procedures of the Diocese are contained in the Policies and Pastoral Guidelines and the Parish Financial Management Handbook (PDF), May 1, 2006.
