Bishop William K. Weigand presided at the Jubilee Year celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi June 24-25, commemorating the institution of the Eucharist, with two Masses at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento. Parishes in the diocese held vigil Masses at the same hour as the June 24 Mass as an expression of solidarity. The multicultural June 25 Mass concluded with a eucharistic procession on the streets surrounding the cathedral, followed by benediction.
