Fri. to Sun., Sept. 7-9 ACDF recovery retreat: “Shame and Self Esteem.” Directed by Carol Mitchell at San Damiano Retreat in Danville. For those comfortable with the 12-step process, emphasizing group sharing and opportunities for prayer and spiritual support. Cost is $155 for a private room or $130 for double occupancy. For information call (925) 837-9141. Saturday, Sept. 8 Retreat day for cancer survivors: “God’s Help in Coping with Cancer.” With Father Declan Deane at San Damiano Retreat in Danville. Day will include healing prayer, anointing, guided meditation and shared stories. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; cost is $35 with lunch included. For information call (925) 837-9141. Fri. to Sun., Sept. 14-16 “A Contemplative Journey with Therese of Lisieux and Jean Pierre de Caussade.” Directed by Mary Giles, professor emeritus of humanities and religious studies at CSU-Sacramento, at Mercy Center in Auburn.
