Adopt-A-Family
Adopt-A-Family for Christmas 2007
Many
families in our communities struggle financially, especially at Christmas
time. You can help one one of these families out by "adopting" them for
Christmas.
Who can participate in the Adopt-A-Family program?
Anyone willing to help out a family in need. In the past, individuals, families, churches, neighborhood groups, schools, organizations, and businesses have all participated in the adopt a family for Christmas.
DID YOU KNOW?
For Christmas 2006, Adopt-A-Family programs provided gifts to over 1,000
families in Sacramento, Butte, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity counties,
bringing the spirit of sharing and generosity into the lives of donors,
recipients, and communities alike.
When I adopt a family, what is expected of me/my organization?
Donors provide gifts of toys, food and clothing for families who would otherwise receive very little or nothing at all, such as:
- Individually wrapped gifts (toys or clothing) for each family member, with each gift marked with the name of the recipient
- A grocery store gift card OR non-perishable food items
After you sign up to adopt-a-family, we send out information and suggestions for gifts. We'll also tell you when and where to drop off your gifts for your family.
