The Diocese of Sacramento enjoys the presence of more than 40 religious communities of sisters and brothers, each with distinctive charisms and commitments but all are devoted to live the Gospel in community.  The call to religious life may lead a woman or man to any of these orders. Each community encourages a thorough discernment process to help individuals discover their vocation. The Office of Priestly & Religious Vocations can provide more information and direction to anyone pursuing religious life.
